Hello! Thanks for checking out my fundraising page!
September is Dystonia Awareness Month. To help spread awareness about this chronic movement disorder, I’m gearing up for the Pacifica Summit Half Marathon to raise funds for the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation (DMRF) in support of dystonia research.
Dystonia is a neurological movement disorder that affects the brain and nervous system. There is currently no cure and because it is not a well known disorder, misdiagnosis is common. I was diagnosed with cervical dystonia back in 2019, a month before my 24th birthday. Having never even heard of the disorder and not knowing much about movement disorders in general, managing my dystonia was a big learning curve. While I can still for the most part do all the things I love to do, many of those living with dystonia face severe, debilitating symptoms.
Please join me in supporting DMRF’s work to identify improved treatment options for those living with dystonia. Thank you for your support as I run towards a cure!
