Dystonia Medical Research Foundation

The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation’s (DMRF) research efforts have delivered a wealth of data, across multiple scientific disciplines, which are creating a deeper understanding of dystonia.

There are many forms of dystonia – some caused by well-defined gene mutations, while some fall outside genetic classification and might be caused by brain network abnormalities of yet unknown origin. While this complexity can be considered an obstacle in revealing the nature of dystonia, it can also offer strategic advantages in our work to understand this disorder.

Join us for a special presentation on dystonia research with Joel S. Perlmutter, MD, Elliot Stein Family Professor of Neurology and Head of the Movement Disorders Program at Washington University in St. Louis, and DMRF Scientific Director.
