Nashua Dystance4Dystonia Donations
Thank you for considering a donation or larger sponsorship gift to support the Nashua Dystance4Dystonia 5K Walk/Run planned for May 21, 2023 at Mine Falls Park. Donations at every level are appreciated and support the important efforts of NH native and race organizer Amanda Lockhead to raise funds to find a dystonia cure.
What is Life with Dystonia Like?As one individual affected by dystonia explained, “Dystonia is not fatal, but it takes your life away.” At a young age, race organizer Amanda Lockhead started to have shoulder problems. She lived for years in pain as her parents visited different doctors and she tried different treatments. Finally at the age of 22, she was diagnosed by a neurologist with dystonia. Amanda’s journey to finding answers was long and painful. She is committed to using this event as a platform to inform the public about dystonia leading to more accurate diagnosis and to offer a better path to treatment and quality of life for those with dystonia.
