The Nashua Dystance4Dystonia 5K Walk/Run organized by Amanda Lockhead took place Sunday, May 15, 2022 to raise dystonia awareness and funds for urgently-needed research toward a cure. More than 100 people attended to share their support, after the event had been paused in recent years due to the pandemic. Donations continue to be calculated, but the preliminary amount raised is over $4,000.

Amanda began experiencing symptoms as a teen but was not properly diagnosed until her 20s. She is a longtime DMRF supporter who has organized multiple events over the years and been featured numerous times in local news. In 2021, instead of hosting her signature in-person event, she led the March to End Dystonia, collecting donations in support of DMRF for every mile walked—not an easy feat in light of having a movement disorder.

Allergan, an AbbVie Company is a National Sponsor of DMRF community events in 2022.
