Dystonia Zoo Days are HERE!
Join DMRF supporters across the country to raise awareness of dystonia, connect the community and raise important funds to support dystonia research so that no one has to face dystonia alone.
Zoo events are organized by families who are impacted by all forms of dystonia with a mission to educate the public about this brain disorder that causes extreme muscle spasms so intense they produce involuntary movements and postures of the body and limbs.

What is Spasmodic Dysphonia?
Spasmodic dysphonia (also known as laryngeal dystonia) is a movement disorder that causes involuntary contractions of the vocal cord muscles, usually in adults. These may be patterned “breaks” or interruptions in speech or may give a breathy quality to the voice.

Congress has released their final appropriations bills ahead of voting later this week. Dystonia is once again included as a condition eligible for study through the Department of Defense`s Peer-Reviewed Medical Research Program for Fiscal Year 2023. This would not have happened without all of the hard work of our tireless advocates! Thank you!
