I rescued my dog when I went on medical leave from my job. I was so lonely and depressed dealing with my diagnosis, and I think Carter and I found each other at the exact right time for both of us. We became each other’s emotional support animals, by helping each other get through the toughest times and out to the other side. Carter is now a certified service dog, who has been such an amazing help to me with my balance while walking, helping correct some habits I picked up dealing with dystonia, and just always being there for me through my good days and my bad days. I want people to know how important animals can be to your recovery, both physically and emotionally. They truly are a gift.
Throughout February support Mr. Carter and the other pets registered for DMRF’s Dystonia Pet Palooza by making a donation today.
