Joaquin Anguera, PhD
Dr. Anguera has a BA in Philosophy from the University of Salamanca, Spain, a Master’s in Theology from the Catholic University of America, Washington D.C. and a PhD in Human Behavior from Alliant International University in San Diego with a specialization in Gerontology. He was a gerontology professor at San Diego State University for 21 years before retiring in 2017. For the last 4 years he has served as a governor-appointed member of the California Commission on Aging. He worked for 30 years in various positions at Aging and Independence Services, a County Department, until he retired as a Deputy Director. He has given lectures at various national and international conferences. His main message centers around the possibilities of the human person, how we need to fight against the negative views about old age prevalent in our society and he always highlights the opportunities for growth in every stage of life, particularly in old age.

We will be celebrating the group’s 33-year anniversary during this meeting.
