Kit Smith – Going Vertical for Dystonia | Dystonia Medical Research Foundation

I’m on a mountain conquering mission to raise awareness about a little-known neurological disorder called dystonia. I was diagnosed with cervical dystonia in 2016.

My goal is to summit all 15 mountain peaks in California with an elevation of at least 14,000 feet. The very first one I did, White Mountain, I did with my dog and even though it wasn’t the most technically difficult, it was the one that made me decide I wanted to climb them all. I wanted to prove to myself that I could still do these things and not let dystonia push me away from what I love.
